The Bethel basketball girls have been awarded the honor of the highest GPAs in the 4A range. Every year OSSAA sends out applications to basketball teams that have been selected for the Academic Achievement award. This year, the Lady Wildcats basketball team was selected to send in an application. On March 9th, the girls found out that they were the 4A team with the highest GPA scores in Oklahoma.

When the team discovered they had won, they were very excited and proud of each other and all of their hard work. Keagan Engle says, “ I am super proud of my team for accomplishing this.” The girls worked hard all throughout the year, not just on the court but also when hitting the books. It is not easy juggling school, sports, family, and friends especially with all of the other factors of life.

When asked how the girls manage it all, Brooke Shaw says, “I do my school work on the days we don’t have games and I study in my freetime.” Keagan Engle later says, “I have to be very organized with my school work and reduce my procrastination as much as I can to get everything done.”

The basketball girls work their best to balance school life and basketball and everybody can really seeing how it payed off. This is an award not often given and the Bethel basketball girls worked hard and achieved getting an Academic Award.
